Aldeno Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)

Aldeno Cucumber (Cucumis sativus): traditional variety that fits perfectly within the definition of local variety: selected in the extreme north of Italy, in the province of Trento, precisely in the municipality of Aldeno, from which it takes its name. Productive and rustic, averagely early (about 85 days after transplantation), not excessively vigorous, it has few temperature needs, and produces longer than many varieties of the species; it can be grown in full sun and in half shade, we have not found particular differences between both methods. The fruits, pale green, are medium sized, they reach 25 cm in length. This is the most suitable variety for the most difficult climates.
