Yellow Doubs Carrot (Daucus carota)
Yellow Doubs Carrot (Daucus carota): It is not widely known that orange carrots are a selection from the beginning of the last century only. The older ones are actually white and yellow if European, and purple if from the East.
This ancient traditional French variety has yellow roots and strong, sweet taste. It keeps colour even after cooking, and does very well in winter.
Like all carrots it is biennial, so it is necessary to wait for the spring following the sowing to obtain seeds.
