Brussels sprouts (Brassica oleracea var. gemmifera)
Brussels sprouts (Brassica oleracea var. Gemmifera): from Northern Europe this variety is very common in the markets but, due to the pedoclimatic needs, not that much in the gardens for self-production. It does not tolerate harsh winters or torrid summers. It is therefore necessary, for a successful cultivation, to center the sowing period. It adapts well to greenhouse cultivation, even at home. A good supply of nitrogen and potassium is necessary for the development of the plant. For experienced or enterprising growers.
