Japanese Kintoky Carrot (Daucus carota)
Japanese Kintoky Carrot (Daucus carota): another traditional variety from Japan, ancient carrot native from the area around Tokyo. Its intense red root exceeds the 20 cm, its crunchy pulp is rich in beta-carotene. It is exotic and beautiful!
It requires loose soil, not too rich. It is advisable not to fertilize the soil where the carrots are sown in order to prevent them from “beards” (secondary roots) .
