Dragon’s Egg Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)

  • Dragon’s Egg Cucumber (Cucumis sativus): heirloom Croatian variety, it looks a lot like a big egg.

    Different from any other cucumber, it is creamy and fresh, it can be eaten raw in salads, and mixed with other cucumbers to add variety to your dishes, or cooked for tasty hot, or cold soups.

    A very early variety, it can be sown from April to June, up to July in southern Italy. It is not particularly sensitive to cold, while it is sensitive to fungal diseases.

    The plant grows very fast, when transplanted it is useful to provide support for climbing plants it and keeping the leaves away from the ground to avoid humidity and posible issues deriving from it. Perfect for those who enjoy new different things!
