Royal Golden Watermellon (Citrullus lanatus)
Royal Golden Watermellon (Citrullus lanatus): beautiful variety that boasts golden skin. The fruits, slightly ribbed, similar to pumpkin, reach the 11 kg, when ripe they become bright yellow, almost golden. The red pulp is sweet, crunchy and contains few seeds. It is easy to cultivate because being premature is the first watermelon to mature in the garden, requiring less care. Important to remember that even the leaves turn yellow, there is no need to worry, it is normal, as well as the seeds, which are white.
This variety was selected in Texas around the 1960s, while in Europe it is rather rare.
