Socere and Nore Bean from Abruzzo (Phaseolus vulgaris): "Socere e Nore" Italian for Mother and Daughter-in-law, this realtionship is represented on the two-coloured oval beans, either black-and-white, or dark-brown symmetrically arranged on the surface of the seed. It comes from a little town in the middle ofAbruzzo's main National Park. It probably had a very wide distribution in the past, whereas today it is only found in the southern area of the “Parco Nazionale della Majella”. Beautiful, rare, and tasty .
