Purple Thai Eggplant (Solanum melongena)
Purple Thai Eggplant (Solanum melongena): This large, ribbed eggplant comes from Thailand. The fruit is violet and can reach half a kg.
The pulp is firm and has a strong taste. It can be consumed in many ways, but it is specially suitable for elaborated recipes (parmigiana, meatballs) where a strong flavor is required.
The plant is rustic and does not have any particular needs, it is very productive. As the season ends- in the coldest months- the fruits will be fewer and smaller but their delicious flavour will remain.
