Banana Melon (Cucumis melo): heirloom variety that officially appeared in the States at the end of the 19th century.
The plant is rustic and productive; the fruits look like large bananas, are 40 to 60 cm long, and weight from 2.5 to 4 kg.
Smooth skin, salmon colour pulp, sweet and spicy.
This variety is widely used in the US for small commercial productions due to its productivity and resistance.
