Old Ivory Egg Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)
Old Ivory Egg Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): a precious, ancient variety of egg-shapped tomato, ivory coloured that turns yellow when ripe.
It is a medium size, around 80 gm per berry, sweet with a thin skin.
The plant is indeterminate, on average productive, immune to apical rot, and suitable for spartan (austere/severe) crops.
The origin of this tomato is uncertain, in 1986 it appears in the catalogue as a variety in Wisconsin, from Australian seeds.
