Spigarello Broccoli (Brassica oleracea)

Spigarello Broccoli (Brassica oleracea): from Napoli, it is widely cultivated in Campania. An ancient variety of late maturation, medium height and lots of branches, the leaves are dark green, and have jagged edges. It produces lots of shoots that grow back quickly after being cut, this feature guarantees production through the winter. The taste is a bit bitter but intense, suitable for many recipes, lots of soups. It has medium resistance to cold thanks to its earliness, it can be grown almost all around the Peninsula.
