Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)

Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato (Lycopersicum Lycopersicon): This deliciously juicy tomato comes from the mountains of West Virginia, where it has been grown for more than a century. These seeds come from the original Watermelon Beefsteak, known for its excellent production of pink tomatoes, that can weight  from 500 gr to a kilo.

It is slightly ribbed, and has some green stripes. But its most important characteristic is its flavour,  that provides sweet nuances. It is excellent for salads, in a caprese, for instance, it will fill the table with a wonderful scent.

  The plant is indeterminate and very productive; it requires adequate supports because of the weight of the berries. Ready in 75 days from transplanting. This time the excellence is American.

The seeds of this tomato come directly from the successors of seedman George Gleckler who introduced it in 1958 as a stable variety. We have been growing it for about three years, it has always given us great satisfaction, the plant is in fact rustic and exceptionally productive, but what you will be extremely satisfied with is the rich and sweet taste of this fantastic steak of half a pound and more.
